CareVista Specialist Dementia Training

We provide special dementia training sessions and a ‘train the trainer’ programme.

Basic awareness and online dementia training has been important over the years to train staff and the public on the issues that face people living with dementia. However, if care home, community and housing for older people services are to best equip their staff to meet the needs of those living with dementia and support their carers, then a more in depth learning programme is required.

CareVista has devised a Dementia Immersive Virtual Experience (DIVE) which will meet the requirements of Skills for Care and new government compliance for care provider staff. Infact this has been successfully provided for relatives of loved ones living with dementia, who say they wished they had received this at the beginning of their experiences of dementia to be able to manage and cope better.

DIVE helps the person undertaking the training to understand more about the world and perspective of the person living with dementia.

Using classroom based training, there will be an opportunity for an immersive experience which never fails to impact on the person and enables them to understand more about how to deal with the daily challenges of caring for people living with dementia.
